It has been just over two months since Michael from Shaking Paper introduced me to Janine Browne, founder of The Black Dog Project — what a journey it has been since. All of us here are in awe of this wonderful project and the effort put in from such a thoughtful, driven individual.
The Black Dog evolved from the simple idea of ‘doing something’ to help young people which came from Janine’s own experience of growing up through tough times and challenging experiences, and how talking, writing and art has always helped her ’see’ a way out of the dark – survive. Janine has also worked for over five years as a volunteer with young people at risk of suicide and depression. She wanted to create a communal place, immediately and easily accessible to people. Something that provided a ‘big picture’ view of the many issues that can have an adverse affect on the way young people feel.
Initially she thought she would finish the book she had been writing and that would be ‘the something’, but when a friend questioned her; “Is that really the best way to reach young people?”, the idea of the website and project sprouted, and in March 2006 The Black Dog Project emerged.
… Now over three years later Janine approached us to re-design the existing website… this exciting offer naturally led us to design a new logo and identity. We are excited to say that the new site launched today which, Michael has hand coded and crafted with care over the past few weeks. I do hope the support for this project continues to grow. We will continue to play a part helping in anyway we can.
Janine, Kareen, Michael, Eoin congrats on a job well done! You can view The Black Dog Project site here

Congratulations to Andronas Conservation Architecture who won the Heritage Architecture Award at the 2009 Victorian Architecture Awards for their conservation work on St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne. Formally known as Falkinger Andronas Architects Heritage Consultants, our team have been working hard on the new identity (logo above) and website.

An ad featuring the new identity has been published in AIA magazine, this is a great launch pad for the company’s new look.
We launched the newly designed website last week, a big thankyou goes out to Mike “Shaking Paper” for a ripping job on the coding work… we are now waiting on the stationery to arrive from the printer (check back soon for some photos).

We (finally!) got some art framed for the studio walls. This piece is by the very excellent Ben Ashton-Bell. More pics on our flickr.
