No more needless surfing through other peoples awesomeness for two whole weeks… Starting now.
First, i’m going to list the sites I rumble through most days for inspiration… basic delaying tactics mixed with overly influenced idea generation.
Here they are in no particular order (apologies in advance to anyone who loses a day sifting through these links):
www.siteinspire.com
www.qbn.com
www.itsnicethat.com
www.grafikcache.com
www.thedesignfiles.net
www.formfiftyfive.com
www.bitique.co.uk
www.graphic-exchange.com
www.australianedge.net
www.behance.net
www.thefinderskeepers.com
www.andyrutledge.com
www.manystuff.org
ffffound.com
www.typojungle.net
madebysix.wordpress.com
www.underconsideration.com/brandnew
www.aisleone.net
Don’t get me wrong i’m not blaming them for any lack on productivity, in fact far from it–I love them and will miss them dearly, we may well produce no quality work for two weeks.
No, seriously it is time to close firefox, open my eyes, explore new ways of finding inspiration and breath in some fresh air. Call it my two week sabbatical, minus Bali, Sagmeister and a web browser.
Here goes…

The Daily Drop Cap is an ongoing project by typographer and illustrator Jessica Hische. Each day (or at least each WORK day), a new hand-crafted decorative initial cap is posted. Lovely Jessica, keep up the good work.

A new online drawing tool from Odopod. The attention to detail and usability makes creating great sketches a breeze.

A site that I have been frequenting over the past year or so is Astronomy Picture of the Day. Each day they post a beautiful image or photograph of our fascinating universe — accompanied with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer. Yum. Check it out
